Join the Queen’s Solar Design Team and partners this August 15th from 4pm to 7pm for our first public ALL AGES open house of the year! Stop by to learn, discuss and EXPERIENCE all the exciting science that goes into building and maintaining a fully autonomous house.
Running only on solar energy and rainwater, the Queen’s Solar Education Center is Queen’s University’s very own cutting-edge hub for resource efficiency research, student and community education, and sustainable living demonstrations.
On August 15th
• Participate in hands-on activities like solar car building, rainwater filtration, and insulation demos. Bring your kids for extra solar-powered fun! • Hear all about the radiant floor heating system, photovoltaic (solar) panels and batteries, composting toilet, rainwater filtration and more. • Chat with our multidisciplinary team about the projects we’ve been busy developing this summer, and the future of the sustainable construction industry. • Take home some tools and resources to help you improve the efficiency and sustainability of your own house!
Can’t wait to see you there!
Stay tuned on our Facebook Event Page for updates about who else will be there!
